I am slowly settling into some kind of routine... work and sheisha...
Well work isn't really working out - have the boss from hell... she is a bully and an extreme micro-manager, she treats everybody with total disrespect and shouts a lot. You can never do anything right - she is a total control freak. However, my colleagues are very nice, and I bond with them. We have fun in the office whenever the boss is away. Also, I am the driver: doing a car lift with a couple of my colleagues. At least I have company and we share the petrol.
I am praying for a better job. Have started to volunteer with MSF - Medicine sans Frontiere...working with the HR lady, Tiffany, on their volunteer planning and management. At least this project is keeping me sane, working with a 'normal' person! Plus I am doing something I love!
And, my friend Gabija and I have started to go to private Arabic lessons. Hassan, a Syrian guy is our teacher. He is very good and caught onto our laziness .... we are learning very slowly... but it is good fun! We practise with Basma, who is helping us with our homework....
Basma and I and sometimes Gabija we go out for sheisha and tea/coffee whenever we can. I love this lifestyle.... however, these many late nights tend to catch up with me... need to sleep sometimes.
Even got my colleagues Liam and Zakia smoking sheisha!

Basma tried a 'special' sheisha... she was so embarrassed I was not allowed to take her photo with the sheisha... all flowers and ornaments ... very 'special'...Apparently they put real fruit and ice in the water to enhance the taste! |
I love my flat, settled in nicely.... And I am so glad I have a cleaner.... she even does my ironing, when she has time... how wonderful! And this is my view in the morning .... how beautiful... and lots of birds - they also enjoy the water!
However, I find foodstuffs are quite expensive here.... am careful not to spend too much money on anything... as I don't know whether my job will work out or not.. if not, and I can't find anything else, what will I do? Have no Plan B!?
I received some vouchers for shopping for my birthday, am looking for clothes and can't find anything decent... need a skirt! But I bought some other nice things, such as perfume, jewellery etc... nice treat.
But for now life is good.... I go for my walks at night with my MP3 player in my ear.... some weekends I manage to go to the beach and breakfast at Tim Hortons..... and lots of sheisha!
Tim Horton is taking Dubai by storm.... it is a Canadian institution and is now very popular in Dubai - I love their coffee and breakfast bagels... great treat after a swim!
And I am very blessed to have some of Hisham's relatives living in Abu Dhabi... they are very nice and made me part of their family! I am very lucky. Sometimes I drive there on the weekend for a visit....The drive is quick via Yas Island bypassing Abu Dhabi.

This is the place where I bought my new majlis covers..... |
Budoor and myself enjoying a stroll along Abu Dhabi Corniche
What a beautiful sunset!
God knows best! I trust that everything will work out as it should.....
