Sugar Beach

It's a sunny day, and I'd better get off my lazy butt and out there exploring!  I went downtown to get Michael his HardRock t-shirt, tried to pick up my train ticket to New York (but the counter was closed), then decided to walk - again - and find that elusive city beach called Sugar Beach.

The beach is located next to a big sugar mill (you can smell the sweetness in the air).  It is a lovely oasis in the city! Opened only in August 2010.

The Sugar Beach is a new park that transformed a surface parking lot in a former industrial area into Toronto’s second urban beach at the water’s edge.
The park’s brightly coloured pink beach umbrellas and iconic candy-striped rock outcroppings welcome visitors to the new waterfront neighbourhood of East Bayfront.
Lined with mature maple trees, the promenade offers a shaded route to the water’s edge providing the public with many opportunities along the way to sit and enjoy views to the lake, beach or plaza.

 Life's a beach....hi hi.... it's tough - shopping, I need a rest.... and I picked a shady place - hope you noticed!

Spot the flying geese....

 Signs of autumn....
