Murska Sobota is a city in northeastern Slovenia. It is located in the eponymous municipality near the Mura River in the region of Prekmurje and is the regional capital.
Murska Sobota used to be Yugoslavia's northernmost city, and throughout history it has shifted across borders between Slovenia, Yugoslavia, and Hungary. Hungarians still represent a 3,000-person minority. In 1919, the Republic of Prekmurje was declared here and the city was the capital of the new state. In 1991, during the Ten-Day War between Slovenia and the Yugoslav Federal Army, Murska Sobota was bombed from the air, with no casualties or visible damage. Today, it is a quiet city with an economy based on regional administration, light industry, commerce, and spa tourism.
Please... don't mention the war!!!
We had lunch to wait for the rain to stop... I had to eat that yummie cake again.... divine!!! Then we walked through the park to the castle where they had an exhibition on the slavic settlement in the region. Igor, Ken & Yvonne's friend is a potter and made the historic pots for the expo....
The expo was very interesting and showed the movement / settlement of peoples throughout the centuries.

On the way back we passed a frozen lake with lots of ducks, I went up to take photos... the poor ducks thought I was going to feed them and came up to me in droves..... I had to run... hi hi....
A cold, wet, but interesting day again.....would be nice to go to one of those famous Thermes.....maybe next time...
Legend says that when God created the world, he had a handful of the most beautiful, most wonderful leftovers, and with these remaining treasures, he created Slovenia.
