Atlanta Underground and Botanical Gardens

Underground Atlanta
In 1968, the five-block area of the original downtown was declared a historic site. Many significant architectural features survived from original storefronts, including ornate marble, granite archways, cast iron pilasters, decorative brickwork, and hand-carved wood posts and panels. Today, Underground Atlanta is a retail and entertainment center.

When it is too hot overground, in Atlanta you go underground....it's a great place to spend the day.

the Old Alabama Eatery,  back to the 50s....I love it...

The Botanical Gardens
On Sunday morning we visited the Botanical Gardens.  Small but very nice.

This was the 'treetop walk', which was just a suspended bridge across the road (another write-up!)

The whole wall was an 'edible' garden, all herbs....

This is so true!!!

The Orchard garden, very impressive.

A truly enjoyable experience, all this nature and colours and beauty!
