A long weekend in Atlanta, Georgia

Atlanta is the capital and most populous city in the US state of Georgia.  Atlanta's population is 420,003.
Atlanta is considered to be a top business city and is a primary transportation hub of the Southeastern United States—via highway, railroad, and air. Metro Atlanta contains the world headquarters of corporations such as The Coca-Cola Company, Turner Broadcasting, The Home Depot, AT&T Mobility, UPS, and Delta Air Lines.
In 1990, Atlanta was selected as the site for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. Following the announcement, Atlanta undertook several major construction projects to improve the city's parks, sports facilities, and transportation. Atlanta became the third American city to host the Summer Olympics.
African Americans became a majority in the city by 1970, and exercised new-found political influence by electing Atlanta's first black mayor, Maynard Jackson, in 1973. However, suburbanization, rising prices, a booming economy, and new migrants have decreased the black percentage of the city from a high of 69% in 1980 to 54% in 2010.

I love the architecture of the highrises in Atlanta, it gives the city a great feel.  It is not unlike the architecture in Dubai - at a smaller scale of course! Atlanta is a very pretty city - I like it.  And it has public transport: MARTA - bus and underground!

The weather is hot and humid, subtropical... so we tried to do our walking in the mornings or early evening, and be indoors or driving in the car during the midday heat.

Bit scary to walk all the way up there....

Guess what I found...

We went to a lovely shopping square, where the security ride around on their segways....

Old fashioned parking meters....

Ok... we are tired and hungry, where is that Hofbrauhaus hiding????
Aaahhh here it is.... lets eat!
